Tricky Tricky

Carolyn has figured out how to climb out of her Bumbo, but on Sunday she decided to try climbing in. It was a good effort.

My dolly.

Carolyn loves her doll more than anything. She crawls around the whole house with it in her hand. If Mom holding her doesn't calm her down, usually her doll will do the trick.

Perfecting my skillz...

Carolyn has perfected standing with the help of her new grand piano. She enjoys playing the music. More often though, she loves to chew on the plastic parts while her belly plays the keys.

Learning to stand

Five days after starting to crawl, Carolyn was pulling herself up to her feet. Jeremy swears he didn't help her for these pictures, which I tend to believe because I saw her do this on her Bumbo chair earlier in the day. Doesn't she look so proud of her self? Now that she's been crawling for a whole week, I have a hard time getting anything done. She likes to follow me everywhere, tugging on my pants. She also enjoys playing with cords and outlets--you know, all the good stuff for babies. Now, she even manages to pull herself to standing with the couch. But that usually ends in a big tumble, and she doesn't like that at all.

Let's record American Idol!

Carolyn started crawling on January 16. Two days later, she started pulling herself up to her knees like this. TWO DAYS!

How's this look?

We call this her "model pose." And it has been so hard to capture on camera. She started doing this a couple of months ago, but never for a long enough period to get the camera out. Finally, I was trying to take a picture of her standing and she briefly rested her head on her hand. Not the best picture, but the closest I've come to capturing this. I love it!

Hug Me!

On Christmas, Carolyn opened her first present. It was from Aunt Melissa and Uncle Ian. She enjoyed finding the dog underneath all the paper. I'm not sure if she enjoyed the dog as much as the paper though. She sure loves her puppy now--and all her toys that she got for Christmas. We went from having zero toys to plenty in just one day.

My First Stocking

Carolyn wasn't sure what to do with her stocking when she first saw it, but she sure knew what to do with her spoons!

Shortly after she turned six months, we started Carolyn on her first food: rice cereal. She was very excited to give it a try

Mom, what is this stuff?

Well, whatever it is, I love it.

She enjoyed her first food so much that I had to go make more for her. She has since tried other veggies and has yet to find a food she doesn't enjoy. Admittedly, that only consists of squash, sweet potatoes, peas, and green beans. She gets fruit starting soon.

Hello There!

We decided to start this blog so we wouldn't have to keep sending out a ton of emails with pictures whenever Carolyn does something cute. Plus, I was getting bad about sending the emails. We hope that people enjoy seeing how our family grows and develops. I know we like seeing the updates from our friends and family. Anyway, have a great day!

Carolyn was happily playing away while I ironed, until she decided to take a little rest. As uncomfortable as this looks, she was completely comfortable lying there--so much that she became upset when I switched her to her crib. (Mainly this post was to test out Picasa. It actually worked this time!)
